My yellow blanket that I had been working on has arrived at it's new home, and so I can now tell the story. I made this for a friend whose friendship I value greatly. We may be many miles apart, but we are kindred spirits. We were the girls that shared secrets and had many great times as teenagers. We spent alot of time together and we both loved the beach that is the header photo on this blog. So....I chose to make a blanket for her that represented something dear to both our hearts. The yellow is the sky, the blue is the deep blue water, the white are the whitecaps that wash ashore, and the beige the sand. The beach is "a little piece of heaven" to both of us...
Many years have passed since those teen years, our lives have taken us to opposite ends of the country and we missed many years of that friendship, however, fate, or whatever you want to call it, brought us together again a few years ago and though our lives have gone in different directions, we realized that we still had that special bond. We have renewed that friendship in the past few years and it's something I value very much to this day. We don't have to live in the same town, or province, we don't have to email every day, but we both know that "we're there" and it's a friendship that will last for the rest of our lives.
"Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart."- Anon
I took this photo just before I packaged up the blanket to send and I've since apologized to her for any dog hair left behind on it!!!

What a beautiful blanket and such a neat story to go with it. Love the assistant photographer or was he the model lol
Marion,
Thank you so much for the blanket but even a bigger thank you for your friendship! I love what my new blanket represents. Every time I am wrapped in it, I will think of "The Merb" and the warm and fun times we shared there and also the warmth of our friendship!
Thank you so much! Andra
Beautiful blanket & a beautiful post for your friend!
That turned out just gorgeous Marion!! Congrats! And, btw, LOVE the dog on it!!
Hello Marion!
Your blanket is just beautiful..what caught my eye even more was your dog.
It looks just like the dog we had years ago..her name was Angel. What kind of dog is your dog? We never really knew what kind ours was, we adopted it from someone that got it at a shelter.
I love your blog and seeing all you are up to!!
great job, you are very talented..
I hope you realize how very talented you are!
Hugs!

Marion:
Your blanket is very beautiful and what it represents is even more beautiful. A person is very lucky when that person has such a deep and wonderful friendship.
Your dog knows a good thing when he sees it. LOL
Have a great day!
