TGIF

It's Friday!!
I don't have a lot planned for today. I have some beans in my slow cooker for supper tonight....the sun is shining brightly....after doing breakfast dishes, a load of laundry...general pick up...not sure what I will do. Youngest is not coming home on the bus today, she is heading out skating with a friend from school..and they will most likely drive her home when skating is done at the arena.

I'm trying to sort out in my mind what to do with all the photos, school keepsakes, etc that I have for each of the kids. I want to organize them better....I'd like to give my oldest a box when she graduates officially in June, but not sure how I want to do it. I thought about scrapbooking, but I don't think that's the answer. She has alot of photos from field trips, etc and I want to give them all to her organized. I did buy one of those photo boxes, so I might just organize the photos in that box and then try and go through the other things and scrapbook the best of them...I don't know...I hate that I am not organized on with those things. I just get overwhelmed when I start to get it organized...any ideas?

I do hope everyone has a great day......

I have my kids in a folder for each year! That's as far as I've gotten! But I need see on probably ABC or NBC, the lady had colored folders for each child. And she labeled them per year and then put them all in a wooden crate style box with a lid. Then she decorated the box. Someday I'll do something like that. I don't really have any pictures, those are all in their baby books. But I've saved awards, samples of homework, crafts, stuff like that. You could always stitch something to put on the box! :)

Enjoy your day! I'm planning on stitching.. we'll see if it happens!

My MIL made up a photo album for my DH a few years ago. I liked the idea so much that I got my family photos sorted out and did one for my family. Now DD will have a family background from both sides of the family. Also as years go buy, we add to the large photo albums. DD will have her family histories in these albums.

I'm sure your kids will enjoy anything you do for them.

Have a great day!

It sounds like you're having a great day. That's wonderful. So glad you got some sunshine. :)

Not sure what to tell you about the organizing. The photo box sounds good if everything fits into it. I only have 1 at home so I've made him a school scrapbook and each year has a pocket page to hold certain things for that year. So far we've only got 2 albums. Each year the "things" get less and less the older he gets which is good in a way, at least for the scrapbook. He will have so many different books when he leaves or gets married or is ready for them. I'm just glad he'll have them to show his children one day. I'm currently working on his sports album from his Jr.High years. I just combined them all into one album and will put the keepsakes in with the photos.

You could also try looking for an inexpensive box at Micheal's and decorate it yourself to fit everything in to give to each child if the photo box doesn't work in the future. Just a thought.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. At least you're thinking of them and doing it. That's great for them to be able to look back on.

Hope you have a great weekend.

I'm like you! I have all of these things that I'm saving for the kids for someday and a scrapbook would make sense, however, I don't like scrapbooking! I love crafts but that's not one that I've gotten into. I guess there is just too many things out there and I could see my house becoming overwhelmed with paper, pens, stamps, etc! LOL I'm sure you'll come up with something good :)

Oh, and you don't have to be a suck up...LOL Just kidding :) Thanks, Marion for the comment. :) My parents are proud of me, it just took them a LONG time to admit it! LOL

Have a great weekend :)

I, too, need to figure out the best approach to take with school keepsakes and art projects...it seems like such a big project to tackle!!
