I DID IT!

I know I have been missing in action alot lately.....on top of my cold that I had, my mouth has been bothering me. I have problems with one area whenever I get a cold, as my sinuses have dropped and that puts pressure on the nerves of a couple of teeth...it hurts! Not to mention the fact that I am long overdue for some dental work. So.....one of my New Year's resolutions (for lack of another word, as I don't really "do" resolutions)..is to have done what has to be done to my teeth. I have a fear of dentists, so it's been almost 4 years since I went.....I have had a couple of really bad experiences over the years and have let my fears get the worst of me.....not anymore!! I booked the appt with a dentist that seems to have a wonderful practice....I decided to go this route and not go to the dentist my kids go to (they do not have a fear...go every 6 months and have all their lives)....I want a fresh start. My kids do not even know I have this fear....I have kept it from them. So, wish me well...next Thursday morning at 9am I will be at the dentist.....one more week! I will not let myself down (can't with the way my mouth has been feeling at times...LOL) and I will feel good about it all!!! It's all a good thing, right??

Have a great day everyone!!
Hugs

Good luck with the dentist. I so understand that fear. Mine gets so bad that when I finally do go I shake so badly that I have had to be held down so they can examine me!! :( I hope your visit is pain and fear free.

Good luck and congrats on getting up the nerve to just do it! I think it will go easier since you've made the resolution and decided to do this on your own :)

Have a great day!

I dread the dentist as well so I will definitely be praying for you. You are doing the right thing and you will be glad after it is done. {{HUGS}}

Good for you! I'm so proud of you for facing this fear. I too once had a fear of the dentist but after going several times and learning to control my breathing and think of something else while they're working it's not so bad anymore. My teeth thank me and yours will too.

Good luck Marion!!!! My very tough husband is afraid to go to the dentist too! I think it is a fear for a lot of people, so you aren't alone! Kudos to you for taking this step though!!!!!! :)

Prayers being said for peace and calmness for you Marion.

I was never afraid of dentists until about 10 years ago when I got a bad one. We have a wonderful one now (and have for almost 4 years) and I'm a bit more at ease, but have to go in next week to have a crown prep done on a cracked tooth. It's all good underneath, so nothing but the prep and then the crown a couple of weeks later. Wish me luck, huh? lol

Big hugs and YOU CAN DO IT!!

Our dentist advertises "pain free" and so far after several years with her, I have to agree with the ad. It is not a favorite thing to do, but a visit to the dentist is not bad for us. Good luck in getting over your fear. {{{Hugs and we will be holding your hand next Thursday}}}
